It is important to understand the viewpoint of the songwriters, authors, etc. when listening to or reading their works. We must exercise discernment and teach our young people the differences in theology and how it affects actions and attitudes. For example, a pastor who sites a particular book in a sermon and names the author and explains the author's theological framework' is acting responsibily before his congregation. To site the work with no framework is irresponsible and appears to give a blanket approval to the entire content of the work. (Do we know what a Deist is, what an Arian is, what a Calvanist is? Can we spot these ideologies through our own knowledge and discernment?) This can also be true of music much has been slipped under the radar to congregations full of people who are ill-informed of it's origination point and the theology of the writers. An appetite for the music is created because of it's beauty without full disclosure and understanding as to its' unbalanced content and theological bent. Christians need to stay informed and excercise much discernment in these days.

Also, IUPUI has a Summer Day Camp that is separate from their Sports camp, where kids play different activities, swim, and are able to participate in electives such as Music, Spanish, German, Math & Science.I'm glad I found this resource.
