LVSNbsyVheyxdi 22.07.2012 v 09:36 Stan Lee told them to draw more like Kirby, the real reason atrtsis were working over Kirby layouts in the early 60's is Kirby was plotting the books (although not being paid or credited for writing), and Lee wanted Kirby plotting as many books as possible. With the exception of perhaps the splash page, and the occasional panel Kirby's layouts were very rough and unfinished, ovals for faces, gestures for figures, etc.. The Master Race story (the script) benefits, and gains attention, because of it's subject matter. Many E.C. comics (I think I agree with Dean here?) are overrated as writing. They are another thing, like the super hero comics (and cotton candy) I enjoyed as a kid, which just don't work for me anymore. I didn't read E.C. to my kids, but the Russ Cochran reprints gave me my fill of Al Feldstein, and most of the other E.C. writers aside from Kurtzman (and to a lesser degree Craig). I'd put Feldstein right up there with Lee as needlessly verbose, and no longer entertaining.
